Day 5 - Our visit to Our Chalet and Adelboden

Our Chalet and it's glorious views across the Adelboden valley
We had a great opportunity to visit Our Chalet which is one of the four WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts ) world centres. We participated in a special ceremony in which the flags- the WAGGGS and Swiss flags were raised and we sang the Our Chalet song and received metal badges.
This made us feel like we were part of something bigger than we imagined. The summer volunteers came from all over the world, such as Hong Kong, U.S.A, Tunisia, Togo and the U.K. We were shown around the different buildings, such as the Great Britain room, in which you could swap badges, the shop, where you can buy things like badges and food.

After the chalet, we visited the outdoor panoramic swimming pool which had an amazing view of the Swiss alps. We had lots of fun swimming in the pool.
Then we went to a hotel on the other side of the valley and experienced a Swiss evening. We had a cheese fondue, chips and salad. Then men came and played a traditional Swiss instrument, the Alpine Horn, after they played for us we had a try ourselves and we laughed at each other and it made us happy.

We sang songs on the coach all the way home.
