After saying goodbye to our families, we started our journey to Switzerland. We got to Dover on time, but there was a slight delay with the ferry (that two and a half hours seemed like forever)!! The ferry journey turned out to be quicker than we all expected, and we got to Calais at around 4am. The lights went out and we all tried to sleep, until breakfast. We had breakfast near Strasbourg at 10am where we got attacked by wasps! It took about 8 hours to get to the Switzerland border and then another 4 to get to our accommodation. Lunch was a picnic on board with a film. We played pass the parcel and a very hard word search which meant time flew by.
When we were driving the last hour to our chalet the views were amazing, everyone stopping what they were doing to take pictures. We arrived here, took all of our stuff in, found our rooms & had a chance to unpack. After our showers we had a chance to explore our new surroundings. Unfortunately some people had a second 'shower' after a storm started. It's still going now as we type, the waterfall directly opposite us is crashing down onto the mountains, twice as strong as when we first arrived. Fingers crossed that the weather clears up for the adventures we have tomorrow!
